Chile House Rural from Juan Sebastián Espejo

Needs a little landscaping, but I’m sure this retired couple who built that will take care of it while they enjoy the simple life in the hills of Chile. The simplicity of rural life in Chile is clearly stated in this house by architect Juan Sebastián Espejo. Could not be more simple than a rectangular box with few windows.

Little contemporary design in Australians

In the photo below are two of the homes that they offer their designs that allow Australia to bring contemporary design slightly to the suburbs. Without a doubt, the suburbs of North America has the world’s worst offenders, but I’ve seen around the world, and it’s sad legacy indeed. However, in recent years I have seen the changes. Last few decades has resulted in several suburban homes rather disappointing design choices are generally dominated by either dull or fake architecture. Last decade may have already made the worst of all with a wave of mass produced McMansions along with their ridiculous choice in architectural style fake like Tudorbethan, French Chateau, or some variation of the Mediterranean Revival nonsense.

New England farmhouse by Sigrid Miller Pollin

Siting is limited by the shape of a flag lot, large front yard setback is required, the merger of the public road shared by two other homes, the perimeter area of wetlands and preservation of hay field east of the site buildings. A ten-foot east-west decrease in elevation classes in buildable area allows the lower level will be tucked into the existing slope. Site, flag-shaped lot, located in south Amherst, Massachusetts has dramatic views east to the nearest meadow and into the hills outside of Pelham.
