If you want to see this year’s version of you better hurry as ICEHOTEL life span is only four months. The ICEHOTEL is the culmination of talented artists from around the world that two tons of ice blocks carved into 32 rooms and furniture, and even including Absolut Icebar Jukkasjärvi by Lena Kriström and Mark Armstrong, so the population can explode a little steam after a hard day at work. Our friends at WebUrbanist really cool show, maybe even cold ICEHOTEL in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden north of the Arctic Circle and I think FF readers will enjoy it too.

Tamina thermal baths are explicitly understood as part of a grand-hotel culture. Cultural identity and aesthetic affinities project seeks to both the grand hotel tradition of Switzerland and the Baltic coast, like Heiligendamm. Not stand alone, forms the building volume emerged from the enclosing exterior space. In an open bath area, for example, the volume of the building stepped back and opened out into the yard sunning forested slopes of the mountain ridge. Views extend past the existing building, filtered by groups of newly planted trees. Guests experience the park landscaping which melts into the woods and mountain slopes. Materials such projects have the same look internally and externally. Trunk wood white as snow brought the internal wall surface. In this sense there is no truth to the interior architecture of the building, but only an architectural whole building.
