
Flying Saucer Shaped House by Takeshi Hirobe
Located on the shores of Japan, everything about this resort stay with arch Takeshi Hirobe and guide eye out – wrap posts into blocks of wood ceiling and then bend back toward the horizon exterior. A UFO like facade on one side, the other face of this ship is fully open space – a set of strategic approaches to provide privacy on the public side of the building and capture the stunning views over the sea on the other side.
The tree-house by Utz-Sanby Architects
The house is open and light, and engage with the natural setting of his bush. Kitchen bench extends to the outside and a large covered deck allowing for life and open-plan entertaining easy in all weather and throughout the year. This tree house sat quietly on the site and almost invisible from the street, offering seclusion and a place sacred to the residents. The house has a simple linear plan and softened with the addition of wood decks that meet the ground behind the house. Curved steel beams that frame the deck and floor plate, which is reminiscent of the bow of the vessel and hovered above the ground. A steel staircase leads to the sloping front door, which was painted bright red, contrasting with the lush green landscape.

Contemporary structure has a pitched roof similar ranch-style houses reference in an environment designed by noted architect Cliff May building exterior consisted of black concrete stone and natural wood boards. Situated on a hillside, the building longer than wide, and leaned over to follow the natural contours of the canyon. Mr Chadwick, who designed the Aeron Chair, made famous by Herman Miller, trying to have a studio and office on his own personal property, located in Sullivan Canyon. The main program elements of the building including the shops that will hold equipment and accommodate the product mock-ups, open studio space that will feature a conference area and floor-to-ceiling bookshelves two sides, and private offices to Mr Chadwick,. situated on a mezzanine. Additional rooms include a kitchen and bathroom.
