In the distant valley, California, surrounded on all sides by hills, with hot summers, cold winters and south-westerly winds in the morning hours, increased the residence of Santa Ynez Residence. Architects were intended to merge with the exterior plains and grasses, shrubs and trees. They decided to abandon the static impermeability of the walls. To do this, create a shell made of corrugated steel sheets color of oxidized metal, which, on a plan, must be combined with the earth plain. Steel coating not only brings the whole house into a coherent whole, making it a part of the natural environment, but also obscures from the scorching sun. Large shutters, doors closed at night and during the departure of the owners make the building inaccessible. In creating the image of the residence architects repel the shape of a cube, and now he is part of the landscape, rooted in the plain.

The house will be built in the south-western part of Inner Mongolia, in Ordos, in the new area Kaokaoshina (Kaokaoshina), planned as a contemporary artistic and cultural center, attractive for tourists. The concept of the villa is based on the crossing of the Mongolian and Chinese housing – tent and courtyard on three ideas: the treatment of metamorphosis and lightness. The project uses the concept of circulation (circulation), organizing the “dance” between a man and a building through a variety of paths winding through the building and offering unique views of the main elements – sky, earth and water.
